This optical SC fast connector has a piece of prepared single mode fiber installed in ferrule. Ferrule is a UPCpolished.
The advantage of such design is a possibility to reinstall the connector in case of unsuccessful installation. The connector is also universal - it can be used for 3mm round cable and for 2x3.1mm flat cable
